Mrs. Molly Major
Welcome Kindergarten Families! I am Molly Major and I am so pleased to welcome you to the 2022-2023 school year! I am looking forward to having your child as a student.
Kindergarten is such a fun year with so many wonderful new learning activities to celebrate. In order to have a fun year, my most important goal is to create a family of learners in my classroom. I am committed to creating a classroom environment where your child is a valued, trusted, and integral part of our family of learners.
I attended Central Washington University and am currently working on my master's degree in Teaching English Language Learners. This will be my 7th year teaching and 6th year at RRE! I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade- but kindergarten has been the best!
I was born in Minnesota and moved to Washington when I was 5 years old. I currently live in Spanaway with my husband (Ryan) and our three dogs; Ryder, Reptar, and Rainier. My favorite things are: Trappers, tacos, americanos, fruit, lilies, pink, Where the Sidewalk Ends, outdoor adventures, DIY projects, and reading. My birthday is April 7th!
How to prepare for Kindergarten: 1. Have your student practice writing their name- first letter capital and the rest lowercase. 2. Practice counting. The end-of-year goal is 100. 3. Read to them. 4. Have them practice fine motor skills. Using scissors, coloring, etc. 5. Have them practice independent skills- tying their shoes, putting on a coat, etc.
