Mrs. Vicki Cowan

I’m excited to welcome you to the Cowan Crew in Room 2 here at Rocky Ridge! This school is wonderful, and I know we will learn and grow together. Each school year is a new adventure, and I invite you to join me for 2025–2026 as we work hard, make mistakes, teach each other, and reach new goals.

This is my 17th year of teaching and my third year here at Rocky Ridge. I earned my teaching certificate and my master’s degree in education from the University of Washington, Bothell. My husband and I have two fantastic kids, Colette and Oliver, and a lovable black lab named Rex—who eats everything! We live in Graham but love traveling in our RV and exploring new places.

I grew up in Bremerton, Washington, in a big family with six siblings and three adopted siblings. I’m number eight! Growing up in such a large family helped me learn to get along with many different personalities and appreciate everyone’s unique talents and interests.

I love to read, especially during school breaks when I can spend all day lost in a book! I also enjoy making crafts—I have a Cricut for paper and vinyl projects, and I crochet and can sew a little (though I’ll never be as great as my mom was).

Some of my favorite things include:

• Color: Purple

• Sweets: Chocolate

• Drink: Chai latte

• Food: Potatoes—chips, fries, baked, or mashed!

• Favorite activities: Napping, watching my kids learn and grow, and traveling
