Mr. Evan Combs

Greetings 3rd Grade Families! 

My name is Mr. Combs! Two of the things I’m most looking forward to are getting to know a new group of students and helping them become excellent academic scholars throughout the year. I can’t wait to do lots of science experiments and become masters of multiplication together!

Next year will be my tenth year teaching. I have been at Rocky Ridge for six years, teaching both fifth and third grade, and next year will be my fifth year teaching third grade. I hold a master’s degree in education from Johns Hopkins University and earned my bachelor’s from the University of Montana—Go Griz! I’ve lived in Washington for seven years and previously lived and taught in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This summer, I celebrated my son’s third birthday, went fishing, and enjoyed hiking. Some of my favorite hobbies include hunting, fly fishing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, cooking (and eating!), and traveling. My parents live on a farm with nearly 30 animals, so I have a soft spot for all furry and feathery creatures. I hope everyone had a fun and relaxing summer, and I can’t wait for an amazing year together!
