Renae Beatty | PRINCIPAL

Greetings Rocky Ridge Families,

It is my honor to introduce myself as the new Principal of Rocky Ridge Elementary.  I have had the pleasure of serving in Bethel School District for the past 15 years.  As a parent of a school-age child, I know firsthand the importance of having a positive home/school relationship.  Building and maintaining a strong partnership between families and the school is the best way to ensure your child has all the support they need to be successful.

On a personal level, I grew up in Federal Way, WA.  After college- I joined Bethel School District as a teacher, then an instructional specialist, and now as an administrator.  I am married with an 8-year-old son and six fur-babies, 2 dogs and 4 cats. I love family outings. We enjoy spending time snowshoeing on Mount Rainier and spending time at our beautiful local lakes.

If there is one thing I want you to know about me, it’s that I LOVE my job!  There is nothing more rewarding than working in a place where I get to witness students learning and growing every single day.  As we move forward together, please don’t hesitate to contact me for anything your family may need. I can be reached at: rlbeatty@bethelsd.org

I am excited to become a Raccoon and look forward to meeting you soon!

Sincerely,

Renae Beatty

Melissa Kaasa | ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Hello Rocky Ridge Families,

I would like to introduce myself as your new assistant principal and am very excited to join the Rocky Ridge family! For the past five years, I have been a teacher and administrator at Roy Elementary. Prior to that, I taught in the Clover Park School District and Clover Park Technical College. The majority of my professional background is in early childhood and elementary education. I love learning and being an educator because I love to see students and teachers growing and learning new things.

Washington has been my home for most of my life and I even attended Bethel Schools. In fact, my family has been part of the Bethel School District for 70 years! In my spare time, I love going for walks, gardening and spending time with my family. I enjoy being outside in the sunshine and I especially like spending time at the lake on a warm day. I love singing and music in many genres and I can usually be seen singing in my car.

I am very excited about joining the Rocky Ridge family, and I’m looking forward to getting to know you and discovering all of the amazing things that Rocky Ridge students have been learning and doing. Please reach out to me at mkaasa@bethelsd.org with any questions or simply to introduce yourself to me.

Warmly,

Melissa Kaasa
